Summit’s strategic partnerships are designed to provide high-level quality in all school areas by working cooperatively with community partners. Summit Prep is fortunate to have the following partners: Stanford School of Education Summit Prep is one of three professional development schools, along with Hillsdale High School and East Palo Alto High School. As a Professional Development School (PDS), we train student teachers, participate in assessment collaboratives, and receive insights into cutting-edge research. Community School of Music and Arts This state-of-the-art school in Mountain View is a rapidly expanding, “mecca” for the study of music and arts. Summit students have the opportunity to participate in the school’s highly acclaimed programs both as extra-curricular and intersession activities. CSMA's faculty is composed of professional musicians, practicing artists and experienced educators, providing students with music and arts experiences that will strengthen their education and artistic endeavors. Through CSMA, Summit Prep offers the following electives, culminating in two incredible performances in January and June: * Musical Theatre * Advanced Musical Theatre * Arts in Action * Advanced Arts in Action The Riekes Center for Human Enhancement This center in Menlo Park is a nonprofit mentoring organization that offers Summit students a unique opportunity in the Athletic and Creative Arts. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to optimal health and personal achievement, the programs combine technology with professional training and offer total support to the student. This helps each individual develop valuable skills, self-reliance and self-esteem through a dedicated respect for themselves and for each other. Guided by some of the top professionals in their fields, students have access to a wide variety of activities and tools that will allow them to explore and expand their creative abilities in music, digital media, video production, and photography. Through the Riekes Center, Summit Prep offers the following electives, culminating in two incredible performances in January and June: * Digital Photography and Video Recording * Musical Industry – Hip Hop or Rock West Ed WestEd is a nonprofit research, development, and service agency, whose goal is success for every learner. WestEd strives to enhance and increase education and human development within schools, families, and communities. WestEd’s 350 diverse funding sources make it possible to focus on its special priority of serving underserved populations. WestEd has generously donated its services to Summit Prep in support of its research. |
